We're running together and I'm documenting it all

We haven’t had many chances to run together since Cam joined the town’s track team. But today we ran a bit after practice. It was rainy and beautiful and it was a moment where we both remembered why we love running together.
We had a chance to run together on 2.3.13 after Cam’s soccer game. We discovered 39 degrees actually feels warm after a really cold week. The outdoor run was probably only .8 miles. We did the rest indoors at the gym. I ran 3.1 and Cam got in about 2.2 miles. We’re planning to do a fun 5K in March!
We ran at the gym together… Mom ran a 5K. Cam ran/walked two miles. We were so determined to get the run in for the day, we forgot to take a picture until we got back into the car. By the way - joining a gym with an indoor track was a great choice. It’s freezing outside today!
We’re back after a long delay. Cam has been participating in his school’s running club while I’ve been getting used to a new job. We joined a local gym that has an indoor pool and track. I decided the money I spend on the gym would be better spent on a place we can all use.
We’re doing running a little differently through April. The kids need to run 25 miles at school before the big Go! St. Louis kids run. To rack up the proper miles, the kids run carrying small cards where they get hole punches for each lap. Five hole punches mean one mile. Even Jordan is joining in on the challenge.
We ran a super fun color run the morning of the Mizzou/Alabama game. Cam and I got there early, geared up with all-black outfits so we could get covered with gold corn powder. We didn’t run very fast but we had fun.
We ran 2.6 miles after a solid running break. Cam and I had gone to a birthday party right before the run so it was kind of tough to keep going with all of the BBQ, cake and ice cream in our bellies. But we did it. Cam wasn’t in the groove during the first mile but after that… I knew he could do it. Plus, we had a HUGE amount of support on social media today. Lots of Nike+ cheering. That was awesome.
A fun 1.99 mile run today on the Russell Elementary School track. I’m very proud of Cam for working so hard. I signed him up for our second 5K next month so we have to up our distance. I’ve also found that if there’s some kind of reward waiting for him after the run, he’s more willing to get the run over faster.
